Conversations in the Gallery with Jamel Shabazz

Conversations in the Gallery
Right in our own backyards of Bedford-Stuyvesant, East New York, Flatbush, and many more neighborhoods of Brooklyn, we are witnessing a groundswell of contemporary artists and intellectuals whose work is carving an important place in our history books. Their contributions to our national discourse should be highlighted now, while they are still residents! On Thursday, February 16, 2018, Richard Beavers Gallery presented the third installment of Conversations in the Gallery with our featured guest documentary, street and fine art photographer Jamel Shabazz in front of another sold out live audience moderated by Zawadi Morris, founder of BK Reader. The goal is to create and promote a solid calendar of influential artists and intellectuals in Brooklyn who align with our mission of sparking thoughtful conversations around art, literature, fashion, lifestyle and culture. Each event is supported by an effective public relations and social media marketing campaign, as well as a feature on BKReader.com, a daily news site covering the communities of East and Central Brooklyn.
